Any form of abuse is damaging and can leave deep and lasting scars, weather it’s economic/financial, emotional, psychological abuse or physical violence. THE WARNING SIGNS: living in fear of a family member, intimate partner, close friend or housemate; light or dark bruises; visible injuries; loss of confidence; withdraw from friends and family; and feelings of sadness, helplessness, self-loathing, and desperation.
CALL 911 IF YOU ARE A VICTIM. Domestic abuse can never be justified or excused, when both partners use violence to get what they want or to get their point across, it creates an environment that is extremely toxic and harmful to themselves and especially their children, who will grow up thinking a dysfunctional relationship is normal.
